Separate way point files allow different sets to be saved. The ability to sort by column simplifies matters even more.

Separate files can be merged and duplicates will be listed.

Alternatively files can be cropped and uploaded to a GPS receiver with either an ID or way point number. This avoids the tedium and errors of keying in way points manually, keeps the number of way points in the receiver at manageable levels and above all else maintains data in a format that is easy to read and manipulate.

However most way points are used in sequences so NavPlan can store these as “Links.”

These can be complete voyages or between two main way points to form a personalized distance table.

Having compiled a voyage, one can then arrange the data in the format that is most suitable.

Positions can be entered during a voyage and one can then change other items for example the remaining time to a position.

Alternatively, calculate a series of required speeds to meet local circumstances.
